DON JUAN IN SOHO - COMING TO BRENTWOOD

From Don Juan in Soho, May 2009

Three of the cast of Don Juan in Soho promoted the production's May arrival at Brentwood Theatre.  The 21st century update of Moliere's 1665 original comes to Brentwood May 14-16, with some of the hedonist's victims played by (from left) Romy Brooks, Emma Feeney and Lindsay Hollingsworth.

Don Juan in Soho debuted in London in 2006, relocating the playboy to the modern day Soho of swank new hotels and old strip joints within the same square mile.  The play is written by Patrick Marber and put on in Brentwood by Havering's Kytes Theatre Group.

Romy, from Collier Row, plays Don Juan's new and already heartbroken wife Romy – most likely upset by DJ's activities with the prostitute role of Emma, of Upminster.  Warley's Lindsay, as Mattie, makes her name by resisting the womaniser's advances.

DJ in Soho contains enough lust, deceit and vengeance to carry an adults-only warning.  Romy, Emma and Lindsay confirmed it's "neither the show for minors nor grandmothers, unless they're open minded".  You have been warned – but hopefully still see you there!

In aid of St Francis Hospice

Jane Bennett, of funeral directors Bennetts, completed last Sunday's London Marathon in 5hrs 25min 53 sec, beating her six-hour target – congratulations.  Her fundraising for the Havering-atte-Bower hospice continues with a parachute jump and October trek in Nepal to the Everest base camp at 6,000m.

An event for St Francis everyone can take part in is a quiz night at Blackmore's St Laurence Church on May 30.  Teams of six can be registered with organiser Lou on 01277 624289.  Bring your own drinks and snacks on the night, contributing £5 for the evening's entertainment.
