17th March 2009 Mr Dale Ojutiku, consultant gynaecologist from Spire Hartswood Hospital was the guest on Body Talk this week. He was talking about the new treatments that are available to help the 25-30% of women who suffer from heavy menstrual bleeding. In the past, there were limited treatment options and, all too often, a hysterectomy operation which might take three months recovery time, was the solution offered. Now, new procedures such as endometrial ablation are much simpler and have good results so that major surgery can often be avoided. Mr Ojutiku spoke with Alex on this subject answering the questions of Phoenix FM listeners.
