Saturday Kickabout - 14 March On this weekend's show we had March's Community Football Surgery, with Mike Burchett from Forest Glade FC. It was interesting to hear Mike give us his experience on football from a community perspective. Mike stated that there may be a specific talent that a player has which may mean the child could be gifted in other sporting prowess, but unless the local sporting disciplines join together more this talent could well go undiscovered.
We were lucky enough to speak to Jon Burnell a day ahead of the big basketball match at the Brentwood Centre, with Leopards playing Cardiff Celts. Jon spoke of his anticipation with Leaoards in 2nd place in the league ahead of this match in front of what should be the largest attendance this season. Tip off is at 4pm and tickets are availabe for sale on the door.
Tom Dukeson kept us up to date with all the scores with Billericay losing 3-0 to Harlow Town. Brentwood beat Harlow Town 3-0. Southend United moved a place above Colchester due to the following results:- Hereford 0 - 1 Southend Colchester 0 - 1 Crewe Leyton Orient came away from Stockpot with three points as they won 1-0. In League Two Dagenham & Redbridge drew 1-1 with Chesterfield.
