Chris Day - Crown Street Christian Fellowship

Click here to listen to the interview

Last week we had Chris Day in the studio who is the pastor at the Crown Street Christian Fellowship which is only about 150 yards from Phoenix FM. Husband and father, Chris is the pastor full time at the Fellowship and he became a Christian while in the RAF and went to a Bible college and then was invited to be the leader at the church in Deal in Kent for 6 years and then came to our lovely town of Brentwood to carry on his service for the last 26 years

Chris spoke to us about his beliefs in the Bible, one true God in 3 persons, Jesus Christ and our purpose here on earth.  Church services are held in Crown Street on Sundays at 10.30am. The service consists of 30 minutes of worship and songs, then announcements and communion followed by Chris who would then speak.  Chris told us how his talks can sometimes go on a bit longer than expected! KidZone is the Sunday school programme that is run by members of the church (see website for more details).  Throughout the week there are groups held in people homes where people can get to know each other better and speak more about their belief on a more personal level, theres also a parent toddler group, baby clinic and French lessons for the kids

Chris also spoke to us about fostering and told how he has had over 73 children in their home throughout the past 19 years.

In a new addition to the show, Chris chose his favourite track and chose “Summer Holiday” by Cliff Richard. The interview finished with our weekly “Thought for the Day”, click on the audio link above to hear the thought
