The Saturday Kickabout Roundup - 3 January 2009

For the first Saturday Kickabout of 2009 we were full of the romance of the FA Cup 3rd round.

The biggest result in the studio was concerning the game at Stamford Bridge, as Southend scored in the last minute to earn a replay at Roots Hall.

The other big surprises of the day included the result of Man City 0 Notts Forest 3 at Eastlands and Torquay 1 Blackpool 0.

Both Brentwood and Billericay's matches were postponed due to frozen pitches. This was also the case with Leyton Orient who are rearranging their FA Cup 3rd round match at home to Sheffield United. In League 2 Dagenham & Redbridge drew 1-1 at Rotherham.

We were celebrating British tennis success as Andy Murray started the year as he means to go on, by beating Rafael Nadal 6-4 5-7 6-3 in the Abu Dhabi tournament final.
