The Saturday Kickabout Roundup - 20 DecemberIn the last Saturday Kickabout before Christmas, Steve Robertson and Dan Westram covered Sam Allardyce's memorable management debut at Ewood Park as Blackburn beat Stoke 3-0. Other Premiership results had Bolton beating Portsmouth 2-1, Fulham 3 Middlesbrough 0 and Hull 1 Sunderland 4.
Local football saw Colchester 0 Sunderland 0, and Oldham 1 Leyton Orient 1. Macclesfield 0 Dagenham & Redbridge 4 was the result from League 2. Brentwood Town had a goalless draw away to Concord Rangers whilst Billericay beat Hendon 4-2.
Other sports covered boxing as we previewed the Essex Schoolboy Boxing Championships at Hannakins Farm on 3 January. Darts, swimming and badminton were also featured along with the rugby and cricket results.
