Body Talk - 28th OctoberLots of news and chat about the world of health and fitness. Yet another diet craze has come on the scene. This time it's about determining your gene type and finding out what sort of food suits your personality and build. Let's see if this one works! Included in the diet is cottage cheese. Not one of my favourites, but it is supposed to be very good for you. It's high in tryptophan, which is a mood boosting amino acid. If you eat it with slow release carbs such as brown bread it will work even better at lifting your serotonin levels and put you in a good mood all day. Try getting back to nature if you need to reduce your stress levels. A walk in the woods could do you the power of good. Studies by mental health charity Mind have confirmed that being around parks and woodland can help with depression and anxiety. Different trees have different qualities to give. Willow is good for opening up new possibilities and healing old wounds. Pine wil take you out of your comfort zone. Yew for finding peace. Oak for building strength and willpower. So they're not just good to look at, they're good for your health too!
