Interview with Tim Burgess from the CharlatansClick here to listen to the interview Back to my favourite backstage dressing room, the L-shaped "room with fridges" where I have enjoyed so much of the Sultans of Ping's whisky and beer (and I really don't drink whisky), with baggy legend Tim Burgess of the Charlatans. If he was tiring of giving his gajillionth interview he certainly didn't show it; I am pleased to report he was extremely amiable and chipper throughout. It's a fantastic experience to see a band with not only great songs but a great sound in a tiny venue; it's all the better that Chinnery's sound system and acoustics didn't hinder that at all. The live show itself was a mix of old and new, with a very generous helping of songs from debut album Some Friendly - well known tracks like Then and The Only One I Know are good to hear but it was a treat to hear Opportunity and Sproston Green again. Tim kept up his high spirits as he seemed to be grinning all the way through the show!
