The UFOs are coming but we'll keep dancing

On the show tonight, I chatted to Niki Dole from Step by Step preschool in Billericay - a preschool unusual as it's run by the local community that it serves. Several years ago it was a privately owned preschool called Rainbow and was faced with closure when the owner became ill. In stepped the parents, determined to keep the preschool going, and now the preschool is managed by a parents' committee.

Step by Step is self-funded and the next fundraising event is this Friday night (10th Oct) - a fashion show at Herongate Football Club. Billericay Road, Brentwood. Tickets are £5, payable on the door, and the price includes a glass of wine and nibbles. The clothes will be high street styles at discount prices, so go buy your winter wardrobe and support this fantastic preschool too!

Also in the show this week was the usual local celebrity roundup (Mark Foster, oooh!); nightclubbing with Denise van Outen; and lots about the prediction, sweeping the internet, that a UFO will be hovering over the earth next Tuedsday (14th). Many in the chatroom suspect that the aliens are already among us... I suspect Boris Johnson's thick thatch of hair may be concealing alien antennae...

And the tracks to get you dancing this week were:

Frankie Goes to Hollywood - Relax

Sash - Encore une fois

Sex Pistols - Anarchy in the UK

Queens of the Stone Age - No-One Knows

The Gossip - Standing in the way of control

Sugababes - Freak like me

Klaxons - Not over yet

New Order - Crystal

The Source feat Candi Stanton - You've got the love

Prodigy - Firestarter

The Strokes - Last Nite

The Music - Take the long road and walk it

Rosie Gaines - Closer than close

Tricky - Black Steel

The Undertones - Teenage Kicks

Buzzcocks - Ever fallen in love

Snap - The Power

Robin S - Show me love

Wiley & Skepta - Rolex Sweep

Sonique - Feels so good

Teardrop Explodes - Reward

Underworld - Born Slippy

See you all next Monday, 8-10pm for more tracks to make you dance... the countdown to the weekend has begun!
