PHOENIX FM COFFEE MORNING FOR THE MACMILLAN TRUST

We opened our doors to the public on Friday 26 September 2008 to host a coffee morning as part of cancer charity Macmillan Trust’s World's Biggest Coffee Morning.

Andrew Babicz and the Mayor of Brentwood, Cllr Dudley Payne

Phoenix presenter Andrew Babicz has benefited from Macmillan and now wants to pay back something to the trust. He organised the event with the support of the station. Andrew said, "It was amazing that so many members of the local community came along to support the worthwhile work that Macmillan do."

The coffee morning was open from 11am to 1pm at the Phoenix studios in the Baytree Centre and guests, including the Mayor, were welcomed to come along for coffee and cake and to take part in lunchtime radio show "Eat my Lunch" and present a song as part of the event.

"Eat My Lunch" was taken over for the day

In the end a grand total of £306 was raised  for the charity.

Phoenix FM would like to thank Andrew Babicz, Julie Morrissey, the United Reform Friday Morning Coffee Shop, Bob and Siobhan Giles, Val Mead, Somerfields, the Mayor, Cllr Dudley Payne and to all those that took the time to attend and donate.
