Local Elections Week (around the 4th ish of May!)

I for won have been busy busy busy, but only towards the latter half of the week- Thursday saw Local Election day, so me, local politics master Dennis Rookard, our resident news-hound, Lee Trunks, plus Steve and Paul headed off to the Brentwood Centre for the big vote count-up and to get some interviews. Apparently Brentwood is always relatively speedy at vote counting, so I got into bed at about 2-ish for some shut-eye, only to be rudely awakened by the alarm clock three hours later.... then, we did a mammoth 5 hour Phoenix Rising, and had a good look back at the interviews and bobbins from the night before (the Conservatives won, by the way!). If you missed all that, here's where the interviews are now living: www.phoenixfm.com/election-2007.php

Then on Sunday, I covered for Craig, and decided to get a few bands into the studio, to celebrate the Musictek Festival, which was being held the next day. Consequently, I was joined by World War 4, Pleasure Dead Cell, Mark Russel and Retrofin, all of whom were absolutely lovely and we had a rather marvellous time. I'm hard at work editing all the stuff they did in the studio now, so as soon as it's ready, you'll be the first to know!

In the other news, album of the week was The Beach Boys' Pet Sounds- 85% of you who texted in liked what they heard!
