Curveballs - July 31st 2008 (with The Tibetan Tea Company)
Local trio The Tibetan Tea Company joined me in the studio this week for a night of music, banter and… cake! The band was originally formed by Mike (guitar/vocals) and Dan (bass) in 2002, with Paul (drums) joining last year. With a variety of styles and influences in tow, the band are looking to record a new EP in August with more live dates to follow – head over to www.tibetanteacompany.co.uk to keep an eye on what’s brewing! The band performed three songs for us in the studio, click the links below to hear them: Full tracklisting for the show: Fiona Apple – Fast As You Can (www.fiona-apple.com) The Eels – The Sound Of Fear (www.eelstheband.com) Gomez – Love Is Better Than a Warm Trombone (www.gomeztheband.com) Johnny Dongel – Sorry Simon (www.myspace.com/jonnydongel) Ace Out – She Looks For Something New (www.myspace.com/bandaceout) Sancho Panza – Seven (www.myspace.com/sanchopan7a) Retro Crooks – Conrad Dangerfield (www.retrocrooks.co.uk) The Kazoo Funk Orchestra – Smokin’ Whiskey (www.kazoofunkorchestra.com) The Tibetan Tea Company – Mr Cox’s Daughter THE TIBETAN TEA COMPANY IN THE STUDIO The Tibetan Tea Company – Heaven Only Knows live in session The Dukes Of Stratosphear – My Love Explodes Ride – Seagull The Tibetan Tea Company – Drowning live in session The Tibetan Tea Company – Frederick Smythe live in session The Tibetan Tea Company – Goodnight Tittletown The New Giants – Shine On (www.thenewgiants.com) Zen Motel – Devil Song (www.zenmotel.co.uk) Corporal Machine & The Bombers – Don’t Scatter My Ashes In Romford (www.myspace.com/euanscorporalmachine) The Mod Con – Can’t Say Your Name (www.myspace.com/themodconuk) 28 Jacks – 15 Bottles Of Wine (www.myspace.com/28jacks) Here’s some more pics from the night – many thanks to Mel JB for these!
