Ford Vehicle Enthusiast’s Day – August 1st 2008

Ford Motor Company’s UK Headquarters are based in Warley and this year they asked Phoenix FM to help them on their annual Vehicle Enthusiast’s Day.

The event was comprised of test drives in their latest models, static displays of classic and sports cars owned by employees, passenger rides in some rare cars and an Against The Clock rally simulation.

Lloyd Bonson, Hayley Crotty, Steve Furby and Olive Rowe were on hand to entertain the crowd, which grows with each year of the event.

Both Hayley and Lloyd got behind the wheel of a Ford Model T, the car which set the world on wheels and celebrates its 100th anniversary this year.  Rides were also available in the exclusive Ford GT supercar, a homage to the 1960’s Le Mans winning GT40.

Hayley also tried her hand at the Rally Simulator, although her time was far from the top of the leader board.

Ford of Britain Chairman Roelant de Waard was also on hand during the day, viewing the assembled vehicles which included a replica Mustang from the film ‘Bullitt’ two Lotus Cortina’s and a new Focus ST.
