“CRY GOD FOR HARRY AND ST. GEORGE!”

“CRY GOD FOR HARRY AND ST. GEORGE!”

So said Sir Laurence Olivier in the classic 1944 film Henry V (from the original play by William Shakespeare) and so does Marco Howard, manager of Murphy’s Sports Bar in Brentwood (Brentwood’s only dedicated sports bar and sponsor of our sports show The Saturday Kickabout every Saturday 4-6pm) as he will have a special St.George’s Day theme on St.George’s Day, Wednesday 23rd April.

For one day only, Murphy’s will be known as ‘St.George’s Sports Bar’ and will feature great English sporting moments on their screens, English cuisine throughout the day (including with tongue firmly in cheek – chicken tikka masala!), a free evening buffet, karaoke (tongue in cheek again) and fancy dress as well.

Any member of the armed forces will also receive a special discount if they produce their warrant cards.

Marco popped into the studio on the 18th April to chat to David Bishop on Drive Time about the special day and why he intends it to be only the start of an annual event in the town.

If you wish to contact Marco you can do so on 01277 212860, and the official website for Murphy’s is http://www.murphyssportsbar.co.uk/
