Hello all! Once again it is 80s O’ Clock at Phoenix Fm!!!! The only place where you can some of the best tracks, from the 80s!
Can you believe it, this time last week, it was almost spring like! I wake up this morning and there’s snow. How weird ay? Why couldn’t we have had this weather at Christmas!!
The first of my top 3 this week on the first hour was the top 3 duets and by golly there was a lot of classics weren’t there? My top 3 were; Don’t Know Much By Aaron Neville & Linda Rondstadt at 3 from 1989, Up where we belong By Jennifer Warnes & Joe Cocker at 2 from 1981 and at no. 1, a classic of course I ‘ve had the time of my life, from the 1987 movie Dirty Dancing By Jennifer Warnes & Bill Medley.
On my second half of the show, my top 3 from my 1980s featured Artist for this week was the Brit Rockers Dire Straights! My top 3 were; Romeo & Juliet at 3 from 1981, Money for Nothing feat. Sting at 2 from 1985 and at no. 1, the classic, boogie oogie Walk of Life from 1985!
My 1980s TV recommendation for this week is the soap (ahem drama!!!) Dynasty! Running from 1981 to 1989, this was the equivalent (supposedly) to Dallas! Remember that famous cat fight with Joan Collins? Yep this was in this classic soap (ahem drama!).
The first 3 series are now released on DVD, so you can watch them whenever you want!
My 1980s Film recommendation fro this week is the fantastic Breakfast Club, a cult classic about a group of teenagers who are given a Saturday morning detention. All different personalities, but they discover that they are all alike and ‘find themselves.’
This film is now available to buy on DVD!!! Worth a watch I might say so!!
