SATURDAY PITSTOP WITH ESSEX FORD BILLERICAY – 22.3.8
One year on air for Phoenix FM, and one year since the first interview on full-time Phoenix fell on me (see sometime before 8pm at www.phoenixfm.com/first-day.php).
Replicating day one on air, today's first birthday party welcomed local bands in the studio all day long. Two were scheduled to make a Saturday Pitstop: Damnation and Sinister Ways.
Damnation are a four-piece heavy rock band of 16 and 17-year-olds from Shenfield High School. They are Sam Pinkney (from Hutton) on vocals/guitar; Jack Unite (Billericay) on bass; Scott Fenn (Shenfield) on drums; and Tom Good (Billericay) also on guitar.
Sinister Ways, also sixth formers but from the other side of Phoenix FM territory – Billericay's Mayflower High School, played two tracks from their CD Shattered Dreams and another couple live. They were in order: No Way Out; Corruption; Inside; and Ain't Talking About Love (Van Halen). See www.phoenixfm.com/first-birthday.php
Sinister Ways are David Copsey (from Kelvedon Hatch) on guitar; Adam Wilson (Basildon) on vocals/bass; Matthew Holland (Billericay) also on guitar; and Dan Bliss (Wickford) on drums. See www.myspace.com/sinisterwaysband
