Body Talk - April 24th 2007



This week's show featured Sharon Cogdale who is training to be a yoga teacher with the British Wheel of Yoga. Sharon has run six marathons, completed an army assault course, trained as a gym instructor and attended many different types of keep fit classes. When  asked why she had chosen yoga, she replied that she was feeling worn out, and who could be surprised at that! With yoga she found a complete system of health and wellbeing, without needing to go to the gym. Yoga isn't just about exercise, it also works on the breath, the mind, diet and the more subtle body energies. Sharon chose the BWY because they are the governing body for yoga in the UK, recognised by the Sports Council. When asked what advice she could give to any would be teachers out there, she said "Go for it!".  It might be hard work, but the benefits are well worth it.
