The Rizzle For The Shizzle, 12th February 2008
Ahoy Hoi! this week was mostly..........INTERESTING. We tried out some new technology on the show and crossed over to Marni in Australia via the interweb, it was MAGIK! No really it was, sounded like she was in the studio with me apparently.
Any-hoo the artist of the week this week was Lethal Bizzle so we had three tracks per hour from him smashin' in your FACE!
Marni chose music from Lucy's Crown and the Living End, both of which were fantastic, but Lucy's Crown was a little bit more FANTASTIC!
We had a few technical difficulties hence Basshunter being played straight after Baddies as I struggled to cope and resulted in a bit of Tim Westwood style mixing, SWITCH! I think we got there in the end and I was going to play it anyway, so meh.......

Here is what Marni had to say about the bands that she picked for us;
"Lucy’s Crown was a nice find. Here we have a rock show with a difference.
An awesome female fronted theatrical rock outfit.
Its members are: Lucy - singer/songwriter, Marcus on guitar, Sonny on bass and Christian on drums.
Lucy’s Crown has played the Melbourne live band circuit for the last 18 months playing 75 shows to date.
So while they are relatively new they’ve had a very busy gig schedule and that experience is definitely reflected in their performances.
Lucy’s Crown is described as “an experience of raw riff-rock and physical Butoh theatre.”
(Google Butoh! You know you want to!)
Media spokesman and bassist Sonny, was kind enough to talk with me yesterday. And I must say Sonny handled my surprise phone call wonderfully!
What I was most interested to know was why and what moved the band to extend their music to a visual aspect.
He basically said…And I don’t Quote
[While the music and lyrics are undoubtedly the driving force and success of the band. The theatrical aspect was born of a desire to give the audience a visual dialog and emotional intensity. ]
So they have the music covered as you’ll hear in a minute. The costumes, makeup and Butoh are a clever extension of their live performance and it works well and gets great responses.
Go and check out their photo library at www.lucyscrown.com and you’ll get a better idea of the visual aspect of the performance.
I won’t go into the art of Butoh, but It’s intriguing and I’m looking forward to seeing a live show in the near future.
Lucy's Crown news
Lucy’s Crown are currently recording there debut EP due for released in April with a scheduled east coast tour. Title for the EP has not yet been finalized.
The Live Recording is taking place at the newly opened Wick Studios in Brunswick, Melbourne.
As we talked about last night Steve,… A live recording is done with all instruments and vocals in the same room at the same time. Which gives the CD a more intense live feel.
Lets get to the song!!
I asked Sonny what influenced the song?
Not The One “Is A reflection of human behaviour.
It’s about the leeches in life that take and keep taking without the social conscience to reflect and accept they have a problem. “
Here it is! “Not the One” bye Lucy’s Crown
That track can be downloaded from www.lucyscrown.com
And also their myspace site so go get it!

"The Living End
They’ve been around for more than a decade. A 3 piece all male band
As a rockabilly covers band back then……. that wrote a heap of original tunes and change their name to TLE.
Ten years later…
A quintuple platinum album-Two platinum, five gold records…and 3 ARIA’s… they are still going strong!
Unlike a lot of bands with a decade behind them, their excitement and enthusiasm is reflected still in their performances. They continue to draw new crowds to each show and have build up world wide fan base.
They’re back recording. Creatively looking to satisfy the die hard fans and also captivate new ones with some exciting new tunes that are unmistakably ….. The Living End!
Check out their .com at www.thelivingend.com of course!
http://www.myspace.com/thelivingend don’t miss the page dedicated to tattoo’s.
That’s where their Adoring fans show off their TLE tatts. Amazing stuff J
I think you’ll love this one Steve! It’s a great tune that keeps your attention from start to finish. (Note the traces of rockabilly)
This is a track off their EP “State Of Emergency” and it’s called “Prisoner of Society”"
So that is all, it seems that she puts a lot more effort in than I do, I'm starting to worry.
Until next time........Vm
