Mark Blog – Week Four Monday 4th February

Mark blog – week four
Monday 4 February 2008

This week was more of A Wander Through The ESSEX Arts. Special guest and co-host CAROL JOLLY from Essex Tourism Association, had chosen a huge list of songs and tracks with a very Essex theme.

Despite being a little nervous at the start, Carol greatly enjoyed being part of Phoenix 98FM and had the most amazing reasons for choosing her tracks – from the words of the Essex Poet to personal reasons (having dated the bass player of one of the bands – but can you guess who?)

The playlist was

1. Riverdance
2. Itchykoo Park – The Small Faces
3. Hole Me Close – David Essex
4. Always Something There To Remind Me – Sandie Shaw
5. Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick – Ian Drury and The Blockheads
6. Melt With You – Modern English
7. Essex Poems
8. We Love To Boogie (from Billie Elliot) – T Rex
9. Mr Bo Jangles (from The Rat Pack) – Sammy David Jnr
10. Fields of Gold – Sting

Next week’s guest – in anticipation of Broadway To Brentwood, a fundraising concert at Brentwood Theatre – is Bob Southgate – and he WILL be worth listening to.
