Ian Chisholm of Essex Farmers Markets joined David Bishop for a chat in the studio during Drive Time on the 1st February to explain about the beginnings and growing phenomenon of the Farmers Market movement in the UK and in particular, the Essex chapter of which he is its leading light. This ‘silent rebellion’ as he called it against industrial agricultural farming and the large supermarket chains, has resulted in a thriving concern as market traders take their traditionally produced wares out to the markets of the UK and in case of Essex and Brentwood, a once a month residency in the Baytree Centre, every first Saturday of the month, commencing on the 2nd February 2008.

For more information on Essex Farmers Markets and where they will next be found in your area check their website www.essexfarmersmarkets.co.uk for more details.
