Saturday 02 February 2008 – Saturday Breakfast ShowPhoenix FM’s first Saturday Breakfast Show of February saw Mark & David debut their brand new competition ‘The Sound of Newsic’ – see what they did there?? The competition is simple…two songs back to back and the song or artist gives reference to a news story from the past week. ‘Nickelback – Rock Star’ and ‘Seal – Crazy’ were the songs of choice this week and they linked to Ms Britney Spears recent sectioning. Well done to Clive from ‘Joe vs Pro’ was back as Mark & David went head to head on their Ipod’s and listeners got to vote on which song they wanted to hear most. Mark’s Ipod won with ‘Franz Ferdinand’s Take Me Out’ receiving the most votes. If you missed the ‘Live Breakfast Cook Along’ then you missed the boys enjoy a lovely bowl of fruit and yoghurt in their healthiest breakfast to date. Thanks to all who emailed in their breakfasts, it seemed Kippers were the favourite brekkie of the week. Any suggestions on what the boys should be eating are greatly welcomed. In this week’s ‘Challenge Dave’ Rob from Mountnessing called and took on David at a game of ‘Odd Fact Out’. Did you know banging your head against a wall burns 150 calories an hour? True story! Or did you know Polar Bears are right handed? Well, they are actually left handed, and David new that! Meaning he beat Rob to go 2-1 up in the series. We need this changed people, so make sure you call in next time. The boys have also set up a new fan site on Facebook, making it easier than ever to get in contact with the boys and let them know what you think of the show. So make sure you check it out! It’s very easy to join, simply type in ‘Saturday Breakfast with Mark & David’ in the search and hit join! Thanks as always for listening and to everyone who emailed and rang the show this week. Your support of the show and Phoenix FM is greatly appreciated. The boys are away for the next two weeks on their holidays and return on the 23rd of Feb, but the show is in very safe hands so there is no reason not to tune in to Phoenix FM all weekend as usual!
