Body Talk -11th December

On the show tonight was Mr Ali Al-Sabti an Orthopaedic Surgeon. He did his medical training in the UK, then worked for seven years in Saudi Arabia, before returning to the UK in 1995.

He has taken a particular interest in new procedures such as arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament construction following sports injuries. This then led to him being drawn to the area of shoulder injuries in athletes. He now specialises in arthroscopic shoulder surgery.

This form of surgery has now become very popular with orthopaedic surgeons. The advantages are huge as the field of vision is magnified about twenty times and so more detail is available. A good number of conditions are best diagnosed and treated arthroscopically.

Mr Al-Sabti continues to keep up to date with all of the latest procedures, and regularly attends courses in America and Europe.

If you would like further information on shoulder conditions or this form of surgery, then contact me and I will pass your queries on to Mr Al-Sabti.
