Andy Hanson  is a businessman who is in desperate need of money. He convinces his brother Hank to rob their parents‘ jewellery store so they can split the money they know is in the safe. Hank, in turn, hires an acquaintance to help him in the robbery. When the heist goes off, the plan goes awry as the accomplice is killed and the mother is mortally wounded. Hank and Andy, along with Andy‘s wife Gina, now have to deal with the repercussions of the botched crime as their father swears vengeance on the culprits.

Dan brings his family to his parent‘s house for a little get–together. When Dan goes to a local bookstore, he meets a woman. They start to fall for each other and the woman, Marie, gives Dan her number. However, Dan is in for the surprise of his life when he returns to his parent‘s house. Marie is his brother‘s new girlfriend. Over the course of several days, the two go back and forth in forbidden love and plenty of laughs.
