Sam aka MC Goldseal (pictured above) from the band 'The Anomalies who joined me on the phone on this weeks show.

The Anomalies have developed an eclectic style of their own, blending a variety of influences from swing through to indie via reggae with a big spoonful of old school hip hop all thrown into the mix. Their influences include: The Beastie Boys, Jurassic 5, The Happy Mondays, James Brown,Jhest and Aspects.

The band’s unique style is carried along on a vibrant bassline, flavoured with the articulate rhyming of MCs Mouthmaster Murf and Goldseal and supported by Lo’s dynamic vocals that accentuate the spitting out of lyrics by the MCs. All this is backed up by Dan on drums, Joe on bass and turntable heroics from DJ Mayhem.

The Anomalies are based in Hereford and have been making music and gigging together for the best part of 3 years.   They recently supported Dan Le Sac vs, Scroobius Pip on a very successful UK tour and received national airplay with their previous single ‘Employee of the Month’.

The band has also supported Groove Armada, Grandmaster Flash, Goldie, Sway,Lethal Bizzle,Scratch Perverts, and DJ Yoda.

The Anomalies release their new double A sided single “The Hand That Lights My Cigarette/ Bamboo Beats” on February 18th
