I Hate "one" Railway!

As you regular listeners will know (you are one of those, right?), I travel each day from Chelmsford to Brentwood on the "one" railway service (changing at Shenfield to catch the metro train).  This weekend I found myself in Brentwood having stayed over at Mrs Charlie's the night before - I needed a single ticket back home but only had about a quid in change and under £10 in my current account (I need a pay rise!)...  Anyway, I thought I'd use 1 of the 2 convenient "Ticket Express" machines at Brentwood train station...

Hah!  No such luck - Because... One Railway DO NOT accept the Solo Debit card as a form of payment ;(  I can buy my clothes, top-up my mobile phone, purchase CD+DVDs, and even buy random tat on that auction site...  However, I can't purchase my daily train ticket (or season ticket, for that matter) using my debit card - Which, as you probably know, is a guaranteed payment method.  So I have written to One Customer Services hoping that they'll send me a nice polite response and tell me that they're going to accept Solo in the near future and/or give me some vouchers!

If a positive response isn't forthcoming, then I'll have to get media on their arses and come at them from the "I'm the radio, you know" angle...
