The Dave O Prog Rock Show Dave is an ardent supporter of progressive rock bands in all their forms and a keen musician himself, playing bass, guitar, mandolin and bodhran. He has organised many rock festivals over the years, promoting new and young bands and giving them the chance to play on a real stage with a powerful and professional PA system. At the other end of the spectrum to progressive rock, Dave freely admits to a love of folk music. In fact he runs a folk club in a village nearby which, in folk circles, is pretty famous. What music does he like? "How long have you got?" he would say. To cut it short, Dave likes all the old prog such as Genesis, Hawkwind, Pink Floyd and so on. But he is also keen on the new wave of prog that's hitting the streets now: "Progressive rock hasn't been sitting on its' hands for the last twenty years, you know! It's been a vibrant and evolving scene that has grown and, without sounding clichéd, progressed!" If you want to hear progressive rock as it is today with bands like The Flower Kings, The Tangent, Frost, Magenta, Mostly Autumn, Ayreon, RPWL and a multitude of others, then tune in to Dave's show every Saturday night from 10pm through to midnight (BST).
