Details:William Byrd was one of our county's most illustrious composers of the Elizabethan age and the concert will include pieces by him and his contemporary, Waltham Abbey organist Thomas Tallis, alongside Imogen Holst's Mass in A Minor. The programme will explore ways in which 20th century composers like Holst were influenced by the ideas of their 16th century predecessors, as well as local links with Lord Petre and the very place in which it is to be performed.
