Chris T-T

Chris T-T is an English indie singer who travels to Brentwood from Brighton to present his weekly programme. He first joined Phoenix as a presenter last year, although he’s played live on various shows since 2004.

Over the last few years, Chris has made 4 albums and a pile of 7”s and EPs. He’s probably best known for sarcastic near-hit songs ‘Drink Beer’ and ‘Eminem Is Gay’, as well as, more recently, controversial folk-protest album 9 Red Songs. His new album Capital will be released later this year.

Chris has gigged around the UK, USA and Europe with the likes of Ben Folds, Divine Comedy, Brakes, Tom Robinson, British Sea Power, Elbow, author Iain Sinclair and many others. Aside from singing songs, he’s contributed to a number of books and magazines, composed music for an exhibit at the Natural History Museum and presented political documentaries at Greenwich Film Festival.

Of his Phoenix programme, Chris says, “There’s two things I want to do. First I want to play music that you won’t hear anywhere else on a Saturday afternoon. Beautiful music without boundaries. But secondly, I really want to get people talking, bring up issues that should be talked about. It might take time but it’s important.”
