Local boxer Chris ‘The Guvna’ Haynes chats to me about raising money for Cancer Research UK.

It was such a privilege to have Chris ‘The Guvna’ Haynes in on my show last Sunday, I’ve know Chris for many years, he is such a great guy, and I want everyone to support him in his mission to raise money for Cancer Research UK, heres a little bit about how he is going to do that….
“I am participating in Ultra White Collar Boxing for Cancer Research UK because its a great cause. I will endure 8 weeks of hard training and I am ready to push myself past my limits in achieving my target fund raising amount! With your help we can make a difference. The fight will take place on Sunday 25th June @ Evoke nightclub in Chelmsford, Essex. I want everyone to come down and support me, its going to be a great day. And I want to say a huge thank you to ‘Bonds Of Brentwood Jewellers’ for sponsoring me.”
I was shocked to find out that Chris had only started Boxing in January, although it has always been a life long dream of his to take up the sport. His determination is really quite amazing, and he is always out and about doing whatever he can to raise money and sell tickets.
Cancer effects so many people, whether you yourself are going through treatment, a loved one or friend, we all know just how devastating cancer can be so… come on lets support Chris!!

You can get tickets Via Chris on Facebook, type – Chris Haynes to find him, or you can contact me and I’ll put you in touch.

Link to his just giving page, every little donation helps –

Amy from ‘Contour Pilates’ pops by for a chat.

Happy Monday!!

Thanks to everyone who tuned in to my show yesterday, it was a busy show, playing lots of new music – I won’t lie I was a little tired as the night before I went to see Bruno Mars at the O2, he was fantastic!!  <3 …

It was a special treat to have Amy from Contour Pilates pop by to say hello around 11am, we had a nice chat and she told us all about her Pilates studio in Brentwood.

Amy: ‘I fell in love with Pilates nearly 20 years ago. I’ve always loved exercise and learning about the human body. Pilates seems to marry the two. I like the idea of doing something that would give me protection against injury, and an achy back in later life. I love that Pilates is a great distractor. It is a mental and physical workout. You have to think about your breathing, core engagement and neutral spine with every exercise. You also have to focus on controlling the movement, making your muscles work harder. I did matt pilates for many years. But soon realised I needed to add intensity to my exercises. The reformer seemed like the perfect solution, you can add the springs, or take them away to make each exercise more challenging. I went to two classes and was hooked. I want to bring the London studio set up to local areas. CONTOUR Pilates is a warm and friendly studio where people can get a challenging whole body workout, taught by highly experienced instructors, and have some fun doing it. You will get a challenging whole body workout in a variety of classes.’

It was lovely to have Amy in the studio talking all about Pilates, and as a Pilates fan myself, i know just how good it is! I have attended Amys studio now for a couple of months and love it. So if you haven’t heard of Pilates before then come on down and get involved! Theres many offers on too, you can find out all about these and also a free trail if you email -“” . Or you can head over to the website –

Thanks so much to everyone for tuning in and a big thank you to Amy.

I’ll be back next week, ‘Live With Libby’ Sundays 10am-12pm. 18160142_120332000353130387_352743830_o18057976_10158523801930514_7464563099602814232_n17388975_10158338798415514_9214110762112742706_o17760005_10158440695235514_1833561745828205981_n

Joe Fryd is back in the studio!!

I had the absolute pleasure of having the lovely Joe Fryd back on my show yesterday!

Joe is an Award Winning singer and entertainer based in Essex, who excels in the swing, jazz, soul and classical / contemporary music genres. He has been singing since he was 8 years old and made it his life long ambition to entertain and perform ever since! He has been travelling and touring the UK & Europe for the past 6 years during which he has enjoyed performing his award wining shows to sold out venues. He has the privilege of working with some of the most prestigious Hotel, corporate & family entertainment clientele venues and organisations that Europe has to offer. Through his growing reputation as not only an award winning singer and performer Joe works together with his production team to bring his vision for the best quality entertainment collaborations to audiences across Europe.

He has been very busy since the last time we saw him in the studio in 2016, not only is he busy gigging but he is now launching his very own production/entertainment company called ‘Downtown Funk’. God knows where he gets the time, as he also has two beautiful children to look after too! Hats off to him!!

Joe : “I found myself naturally progressing into the music and performance industry and I not only wanted performing, I wanted to arrange the music, lighting, sound and mood for my clients. The more venues and events I appeared at there were always multiple suppliers used, I found the organisation and flow of these events were often disparate and lacked the level of energy that I thought the clients deserved. I decided to create my own vision for what I believed to be the most amazing experience I could offer my client with the help of their own inspirations.”

My favourite question throughout Joes interview was this: ‘If you could sing live on stage with one male and/or one female musician dead or alive who would be?’ His answer was – Michael Jackson! Good answer, legend!

You can find all events, shows and announcements at – also check out his amazing promo video!!!

Thanks for coming to see us Joe! And a huge thanks to all the listeners!

I’m away for a couple of weeks on holiday but I’ll be back on the 9th April – ‘Live With Libby’ Sundays 10am-12pm.

Sgt Ella Warman visits the studio from The Brentwood Imperial Youth Band

I was very lucky to have the lovely Sgt Warman visit me on my Sunday morning show from The Brentwood Imperial Youth Band, who you may have seen playing at local events around Essex.

The Brentwood Imperial Youth Band is a traditional marching band based in Essex, England. The band was founded in 1990 by Mr John Wyndham MBE to provi
de local youth an environment to develop life-skills in a fun, safe and musical way. Since 1990 the band has developed into a highly successful group with a renowned international reputation. With over 100 members, led by a cadre of staff who are all volunteers, the youngest musicians are just 10 years old and many of the new recruits join the band with no previous musical experience. With a multifunctional capability the band performs at concerts, parades and tattoos throughout the year. As honorary members of the 49th (West Riding) Infantry Division Polar Bear Association the band proudly wear the Polar Bear insignia on their scarlet red tunics.

Ella was a delight to interview and you could see just how passionate she was about the band, we spoke about the many different aspects of band life and also promoted their upcoming concert with The Band of The Parachute Regiment on Sunday March 12th held at the band room in Warley. (Tickets still available)  I’ve got my

Ella’s main points:
1) Being in the band is awesome. It is more than music and marching, band is an extended family.
2) The concert is going to be fabulous. There will be no better way to spend the evening than in our band room on March 12th. Some tickets are still available.
I did find it hard not to reminisce about my glory days being in the band playing cornet, I spent over 8 years as a member, travelling all over the world playing at the most amazing venues including visiting California and playing in the disney parade. I had such a wonderful time being part of the band and would highly recommend it to anyone who was thinking of joining. You don’t even have too know how to play an instrument, they will teach you from scratch, all for just £1 a week.. amazing!! The band meets on a Monday and Wednesday evening from 7pm-9pm, so why not pop along and give it a go!

Thank you to everyone who tuned in and a special thanks to Ella. 17021470_10155043967499813_6693520556895939296_n16990289_10154953816323529_640979813_o
