Hogarth School Takeover 8/6/11

It was another great takeover by four of the year 6 children from Brentwood’s Hogarth Primary School, and the last for Ella, Sophie, Lainey & Rory as they’ll all be moving on to secondary school next term. The children from Hogarth always convey a very happy life at the school, and this afternoon was no exception!

As well as choosing a favourite song, each of the children talked about some of the things they’d been getting up to. Lainey talked about what they’d each done during the half term holidays:

Sophie told us about the SATs:

Rory shared what they’d done on polling day:

and Ella talked about preparations for the school play, in which Phoenix FM gets a mention:

The children always speak very fondly of their teacher, Mr Clarke, who’s retiring at the end of term:

Good luck to all the children in Year 6 who’ll be leaving Hogarth this term – and a very happy retirement to Mr Clarke!

Hogarth School Takeover 16/3/11

Tom, Billie, Ellie and Sophie

Another of Hogarth School’s occasional takeovers of Phoenix FM, this time with Ellie, Sophie, Billie and Tom, who was supposed to have joined us last time but hadn’t been able to as he’d been injured playing football.

There are always plenty of things going on at Hogarth, and the children shared some of them with us. Sophie began with their toy, book and games day to raise funds for the forthcoming trip to Kessingland; then Tom told us about his half term holiday when he visited Leeds. Ellie talked about the Year 6 basketball tournament when Hogarth reached the final against Sunnymede; and Billie finished off with her report on the school trip to the Tower of London.

The children each chose a song, and we finished with Black Sabbath’s Paranoid, especially for their teacher, the ever-popular Mr Clarke!

This was probably the liveliest of the Hogarth takeovers so far – and as always, a lot of fun!
