About Mike Jones

I joined the pioneering community cable station Radio Basildon in 1979 after spells with Orsett and Basildon Hospital Radio. I mover swiftly on to regular shows on Breeze AM and Essex Radio throughout the 90s and I had further spells at Link FM and Time 107.5 FM before joining Phoenix in August 2010. Since February 2013 I've presented Friday's One 2 Three covering every political, art and sport topic going. I'm currently the stadium announcer at Dagenham and Redbridge FC and work for Aston Martin/Jaguar in Brentwood. I'm also a professional voiceover artist and secretary of Thurrock Courts Players where I have won national awards for Directing and Acting. When not doing any of the above I can be found on the golf course or with my granddaughter Ivy.
