1984 – Iron Maiden kicks off the World Slavery Tour in Warsaw, Poland, with shows in Hungary and Yugoslavia soon to follow. It marked the first time a Western band has ever brought a full concert production behind the Iron Curtain. Overall, the tour lasted 331 days, during which the band performed 189 gigs. The band were left exhausted by its end in 1985 and demanded a break for the rest of the year before starting work on Somewhere In Time in 1986

1986 – Lionel Richie released his 3rd studio album “Dancing on the Ceiling” in the US where it went to #1 on the Billboard chart. It reached #2 here in the UK and sold over 5 million copies worldwide. One of the tracks on the album, “Say You, Say Me” won an Academy Award for Best Original Song and a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.
