Done Deals! 24/07/17

The latest done deals in the world of football.

So far this transfer window has been filled with drama. From Man City spending £125.7 Million on 3 full backs in the past week and a half to Wayne Rooney returning to Everton after 13 years! A lot has happened already but there is still time for even more football movements to come as Deadline Day is still over a month away!

Benjamin Mendy (Monaco to Man City) £49.2m

Benjamin completed his transfer today after undergoing a medical in LA. The 23 year old Frenchmen has been City’s first choice LB target this window and finally the deal has been completed. It has to be said Monaco are losing a lot of key players this Transfer Window we saw City Snatch Bernando Silva as well earlier this Summer for a huge £43m. Mendy enjoyed a superb 2015/16 season with Monaco. He enjoyed 5 MOTM performances and gathered up 8 assists in competitions such as Ligue 1 and the Champions League. £49.2m does seem pricey for a 23 year old full-back, but with City also spending £50m on 27 year old full-back Kyle Walker who only managed 5 assists last season it seems reasonable!

Marko Arnautovic (Stoke to West Ham) £25m

The Austrian International completed his move to the London Stadium on the 22nd of July. Marko enjoyed 4 years at Stoke making 145 appearances for the club scoring 26 times before joining up with the Hammers. Arnautovic is the 3rd new signing this transfer window for West Ham with the club already signing two ex Man City players being Goal Keeper Joe Hart and Right Back Zabaleta, it seems like West Ham are signing players with good experience in the English game in their hopes for a top 6 finish next season. The former Champion league winner with Inter is looking likely to start against his former boss Mourinho in the opening weekend of the season as West Ham face Man Utd on Sunday the 13th!

Alvaro Morata (Real Madrid to Chelsea) £60m

With Diego Costa’s relationship with his current boss Antonio Conte only getting worst by the day, Chelsea have a new Spanish International up top! Morata completed his move to the Blues by signing a mega 5 year contract. The new number 9 at Chelsea has said “It’s an incredible emotion to be part of this big club”. With Morata being linked with both Ac Milan and Man Utd its interesting to see the saga end with this move to Chelsea. With Morata only starting 14 games in La Liga last year you can see why Morata wanted the move. Scoring 14 goals from 18 starts in all competitions Morata could be a contender for the golden boot come the end of the season!

Here are some other noticeable transfers from the past week! ⚽️⚽️⚽️

Danilo [Real Madrid – Manchester City] £26.5m

Darren Randolph [West Ham – Middlesbrough] £5m

Aleksandar Kolarov [Manchester City – Roma] £4.5m
