Billericay Town – the first three months of an exciting new era

Although several new players were signed the wins everyone craved for didn’t happen immediately, it was obvious the team needed time to bond. Some of those early signings are no longer with the club but a number of significant signings have been made in the last couple of months; these included the return of supporters’ favourites Billy Bricknell and Rob Swaine.

The team have now won their last four league matches and are playing exciting attacking football as well as defending well. On Wednesday evening they beat Needham Market – second in the league – 6-0, and recent wins have seen them gradually climb back up the league. Although it will be a big ask it’s still possible for the club to reach the league playoffs. One of Glenn’s targets was to achieve the first promotion within 18 months, and with the team he has assembled there is no reason why this can’t be achieved.

Although supporters are starting to return it would be good to see Glenn rewarded for his efforts with an increased fan base.

So much has changed at the club in the last 3 months and Glenn’s actions certainly show that he wants the club to be successful. Apart from signing new players, big changes are also taking place to the clubs facilities.

The next home matches are on Tuesday 21st February v South Park in the Ryman League Cup Semi Final followed by a home league match v Hendon on Saturday 25th February. It would be great to see you there, you will be surprised at all the changes taking place, everyone is welcome.

If you can make it your support would be appreciated on Saturday BTFC are away to local rivals Grays FC.
