Foods to make you feel better. If you suffer with bloating there are foods you can eat that will help resolve the problem.

Kimchi or sauerkraut as it is more commonly known, not to everyone’s taste but it’s a traditional food of shredded cabbage that contains gut friendly bacteria. You’ll also find it with a combination of vegetables and spices to give it a bit more flavour. Raw sauerkraut is the best as it will still contain all of the beneficial bacteria.

Garlic has potent antibacterial and antigfungal properties. It’s helpful with a variety of gut problems including candida.

Artichokes are a good source of insulin, and ginger keeps food moving through the gut.

Soups if they are prepared fresh can be very beneficial. The shop bought ones have to go through a very thorough process including taking them to very high temperatures which kills off all of the good bacteria. Look for unpasteurised products.

Oats are good too, and very helpful in keeping you regular. Wheatbran has similar effects but can be quite harsh on the stomach lining, particularly if you already have sensitivities. Oats can be a better source of gentle fibre, and they’ve also been found to help lower cholesterol levels and help to control blood sugar.

Cider vinegar is helpful  in regulating stomach acid levels, and can help relieve nausea and heartburn.

Rocket and watercress can help to stimulate the digestive juices, which in turn help the stomach to digest and absorb vital vitamins and minerals.
