Well this weekend was quite busy live music affair, as on Friday I went to London’s east end to Brick lane to see Empathy Test, who were supported by Sol Flare and The Glass Children–  a night of great electro pop, with almost a battle of the best song bird. The venue was Club 1001 and at this I bumped into Promenade Cinema, who were not just there for the gig bit were in London to Play Electro London the next day.  A great night with 3 great bands…..just the starter.

Saturday was a lovely long and stunningly fun day, as it was the 2016 edition of Electro London, a music type festival dreamed up by Johnny Normal and Rob Green. This was it’s second edition after 2015 debut event and it was indeed clear a growing delight. I for my sins was the event DJ and I was in the DJ Booth attached to the stage all night [2pm till midnight..have the ringing ears to prove it]; Playing the intermission music you understand. Not only was there eleven great acts on the bill, from Sweden, Ireland, Germany and Canada, as well as the UK,  but as well, among the audience were quite a few similar talented artists giving the event support.  This event was a stunner and I dare say there will be a lot of reviews to read, as there are already loads of quality photo’s and videos of the artist in circulation, I know I met so many people and have loads of memories coming back to me, one notable was Wolfgang Flu [headliner], asking me to turn the monitors up; I think he though I was the sound engineer, Still it was odd and yet cool to be spoken to by a Kraftwerk legend, considering I have been listening to their music since a child.  wolfgang-flu-el16

Glad to say I had more new music in this weeks show hot playlist, from Susanne Sundor, White Lies, The Judas Matrix, Reborn Beton, Bella Wager and Rodney Cromwell, plus more remix type gems and another Synth In The City [ gig news], along with a short talkie ramble, about the supposed big announcement of the release of a ton of Depeche Mode classic and recent video’s coming out – which kind of almost turned into a debate, into what was their best video and or did they make videos worth buy in a box set.

  • Covenant – Sound Mirrors
  • Kraftwerk – Radioactivity (Half-Life Mix)
