1982 – The first “Us Festival” was held in California with The Police, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Fleetwood Mac, Talking Heads and The B-52’s among the many performers. The two festivals (the next in 1983) were created to encourage the 1980s to be more community-oriented and combine technology with rock music.
