It was an absolute pleasure to welcome legendary ex-West Ham and England midfielder Sir Trevor Brooking back to Phoenix FM after a gap of 19 years!

 
Sir Trevor chatted to Mike Jones about a number of topics, including:

– Leaving the Boleyn Ground and the deal which took West Ham to the Olympic stadium
– What it was like to arrive at West Ham in the 1960s
– Memories of the best players he played against
– Why he didn’t go into club management
– What he thinks about the FA Cup – and how often people talk to him about 1980!

Exciting times for West Ham fans at the moment – the club have just smashed their Premier League points record and are looking forward to playing at the Olympic Stadium after selling out 50,000 season tickets. And Phoenix FM will have some exciting news for West Ham fans in the not-too-distant future!
