West Ham’s Last London Derby at Upton Park

This weekend on Between the Lines we looked ahead to the Grand National, with the race starting an hour later that previous years, at 5.15.

Aaron Heanue had plenty of football action to keep him occupied with two 12.30 kick-offs.

In the Championship, the full time score in the Lancashire v Yorkshire match was Burnley 1-0 Leeds. In Scotland we had an exciting game between Motherwell and Celtic. This match having everything, including a missed penalty and ending Motherwell 1-2 Celtic.

The early kick-off in the Premier League was at West Ham. Their last match against a London side at their current home had the Hammers down by 2 goals when Andy Carroll started the first of three goals close to half time, going in 2-2 at the break. The match ending West Ham 3-3 Arsenal.

We also looked back at Lochlan Bearman’s first weekend of car racing, as the Phoenix FM sponsored driver came 9th in his first race and 6th in the second after some very promising driving, especially considering the 14 year old was up against far more experienced drivers 3 years older than him.
