It was announced this week that a feature from The Late Late show presented James Corden called Carpool Karaoke is going to have a spin off and have it’s own show.
Carpool Karaoke see’s James Corden joined on his drive to work by a singer in the passenger seat and they sing some of their big hits together. Corden also asks them questions about their carerr and usually have a funny sketch, whether it be wedding dress shopping with Iggy Azela or learning dance moves from Jason Derulo.
So in the same style as the show from a couple of months back about Lip Sync Battle, from The Jimmy Fallon Show, tonight’s playlist included all the artists which have appeared on Carpool Karaoke so far. And there have been some big names!
Justin Bieber
Justin has graced James with his presence 3 times in Carpool Karaoke. The first time they sang Baby, Boyfriend and danced to Where Are You Now? while Justin did a rubix cube in 2 minutes! The second they sang Never Say Never and then they went clothes shopping – choosing clothes for each other. Lastly there was a Grammy’s themed Carpool Karaoke.
Jennifer Hudson
Starting with James on the phone asking where Jennifer was, she gets in the car being late! James seems to forgive her as then she sings her hit Spotlight and her collaboration with Iggy Azela, Trouble.
Iggy Azela
In Iggy Azela’s Carpool Karaoke we find out her real name is actually Amethyst. James also talks to her about her upcoming wedding which inspires them to go and try on wedding dresses. Together they sang Trouble, Black Widow and Iggy’s track with Charli XCX, Fancy.
One Direction
Joining the band for the day James got One Durection to wear matching denium jackets and taught them a typical boy band dance routine. AS well as talking about how they felt about their then upcoming break they also all sing Beautiful, Story of my Life, Best Song Ever, Perfect, and Drag Me Down.
Adele
The first Carpool Karaoke filmed in London, Adele joined James for a drive where she reveals that was was a massive fan of the Spice Girls and they were a bit inspiration to her. AS well as rapping along to Wanna B, she spits some of her own bars as well – who’d have thought Adele could rap?! They also sang Hello, Someone Like You, and Rolling in the Deep together.
Jason Derulo
Creating a whole new genre Hip-Opera Jason Derulo shows his skills as an opera singer as he reveals he has studied classics music all his life! You wouldn’t think it with the lyrics and beat to songs such as Talk Dirty, Want You to Want Me and Wiggle which he sings with James before getting out the car and teaching him some moves James could use in a club.
Sia
Wearing a matching wig, James asks Sia the idea behind covering her face which she explains that it’s to do with having privacy because of all the pictures and exposure in the world. Singing Rihanna’s Diamonds which she rote, they both also sing Chandelier and Elastic Heart.
Mariah Carey
The shortest video of them all but still as entertaining is with Mariah Carey, looking cool in her shades! Together they sing some of Maraih’s perhaps less known songs: Version of Love and Thirsty.
Chris Martin
A Super Bowl themed Carpool Karaoke with Chris Martin who performed at the event. He is found on the side of the road hoping to hitch a lift to the game, when James pulls up. Singing classic Coldplay songs and new ones like Adventures of a Lifetime, Hymn for the Weekend, Yellow, When I Ruled the World and Paradise. They then have to stay in a motel when James gets too tired and ion the morning their car gets stolen – how do they get to the Super Bowl?!
Carrie Underwood
Country girl Carrie Underwood tells James that Country is it’s all about having the boots, so they go boot shopping! An expensive Cowboy hat and jacket also catch his eye – but he only gets up with the hat! Together they sing Carrie’s tracks Smoke Break, Jesus Take the Wheel and Before he Cheats.
Stevie Wonder
Reducing James to tears Stevie Wonder sings I Just Called down the phone to James’ wife who is a big fan! He also personalises the lyrics to ‘He just called to say James loves you’ Aww! Superstition. Once James composed himself they say classics Superstition, Isn’t she Lovely and Signed Sealed Delivered.
