Last years participants said:

“I loved being able to play all day and learn more theory quickly” – Andy Russell, (Sax)

“The band workshops helped to build my confidence” – David (Sax)

“The most enjoyable part for me was learning about structure and arrangements as well as the instrumental session” – Neil Sullivan (Percussion)

“I really enjoyed the lecture with the tutors as it was nice to see it all come together and to see them play. The instrumental tuition was a great chance to discuss/play and question” –  Alison Hendry (Piano)

Whether you are new to jazz looking to explore this exciting music or a gigging professional seeking to improve your jazz repertoire and improvisational skills this is the course for you.

The course is endorsed by the Spike Robinson Foundation and hosted in the fantastic surroundings of the Brentwood School Music Department.

EEJ 3 tutors

You will receive instrumental tuition to suit your level from some of the finest players on the UK jazz scene. These have included: Tony Sandeman (Guitar), Derek Nash, Vasilis Xenopoulos, Frank Sebastian and Zak Barret (Sax, Woodwind, Flute and Clarinet), Dan Banks (Piano and Keyboards),  Marc Cecil (Drum Kit and Percussion), Dave Chamberlian and Jonti Fisher (Bass) and Georgina Jackson (Vocals).

The course is charged at £245 per place (or £200 for early bookings), for the four days of tuition, making it one of the most competitively priced jazz courses in the country (less than £8 per hour – or less than £7 per hour if you’re an early booker).  Places will be strictly limited to seven per instrument to ensure instruments are not duplicated in the band sessions and that instrumental tuition is not over subscribed.

Following last year we expect a large take up so you are advised to book early and sign up to the blog for ongoing news approaching the course.
