Brentwood goes orange!

On Saturday 27th February, Saint Francis Hospice is encouraging everyone in and around Brentwood to Go Orange for their local hospice.

Nurse Aimee Mabbort is going Orange

Saint Francis Hospice nurse Aimee Mabbort is going orange on Saturday.

In the last financial year – 2014/15 – staff at Saint Francis Hospice made 5,895 homes visits or phone calls, held 571 family and bereavement support sessions and provided 2,805 hours of end-of-life home nursing care all to people in the borough of Brentwood.

Although many people in the borough know of the hospice’s work, only 6% of people in the borough have financially supported the hospice in the last year.

Justine Burrows, Head of Individual Giving at Saint Francis Hospice said: “We hope the campaign will inspire people to help continue to raise the £4,200 it costs us every day to provide all of our services free of charge to people affected by any life-limiting illness across the borough of Brentwood.

“Anyone can Go Orange in any way – they can join one of our events, sponsor a nurse, hold a Go Orange at work day, or come up with some other whacky idea! More than 160 businesses across Brentwood, Shenfield and Warley have already pledged to support us on Saturday including Marks and Spencer in Brentwood High Street, the Marygreen Manor and HSBC,” she added.

Members of the Saint Francis Hospice team will be under orange gazebos near the ruins in the High Street, Brentwood in front of the Baytree Centre between 10am and 4pm on Saturday 27th February. They will have plenty of fundraising ideas and orange gear to inspire shoppers to show their support for the work of the hospice.
