Show 61: 50 Grades Smarter Semi Final

Well it was only a week away till we found out the first ever winner of 50 Grades Smarter. My quiz segment of my show which I ask my guest a series of questions to test their knowledge.
In the studio this week I had Leigh-On-Sea singer-songwriter, S J Denney, two members of the Colchester band Killatrix, two members of the Thurrock based CJ2, and Safehouse Productions from Southend-On-Sea.
All of these scored eight out of 15 when they visited the studio. So I’ve brought them back for one more shot at the final .
Round one: Safehouse promotions lead the way early on, leading CJ2 by five points.
Round two: CJ2 closed the gap to just one point, but Killatrix got most points in this round, with a 12-point improvement from the previous bunch of questions.
Round three: This is where the game was won with my “pot potato round” which player potentially lost points from questions they passed on. Safehouse took full advantage, ending the round on 98 points overall.
Round four: The final was the tightest of them all. All players got within 13 points of each other.
BUT IT WAS SAFEHOUSE WHO GOT THROUGH TO THE FINAL. They went on to face Holly Hannigan and bandmate, Tall Dark Friend the following week.
Not a lot of music this week, but I played some music from the musicians who participated in the quiz this week.
1. CJ2 – Never Seen A Day Like This
2. Killatrix – Overcome
3. Asylums – Joy In A Small Wage
4. Of Monsters and Men – Little Talks
5. Roisin O’Hagan – Dark, Dark Lie
6. Tall Dark Friend – Corridors
7. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds – Do The Damage
8. Slaves – Cheer Up London
9. Lucy Rose – Bikes
10. Kooks – Around Town.
