This week it was announced after 20 years since it’s release date, No Doubt’s single Don’t Speak hit the million sales mark alongside Eminem’s Lose Yourself. It’s not the first time Eminem has achieved a million UK sales for a single as even though Lose Yourself came out first in 2002, his collaboration with Rihanna Love The Way You Lie reached a million in 2011, a year after its release.
Three artists appear twice on the 1 million single sales list which are Katy Perry (Roar and Firework) Ed Sheeran (Thinking Out Loud and A Team) and Rihanna who also lends her vocals to Calvin Harris’ 1 million hit We Found Love.
Lady Gaga more impressively managed to have two of her singles sell a million copies in the UK from the same year! Back in 2009 Bad Romance and Poker Face joined the list. But the one and only Pharrell Williams beats them both as he appears 3 times with tracks Blurred Lines featuring Robin Thicke, The Collaboration with Daft Punk and Nile Rodgers Get Lucky and his solo single Happy – all released in 2013!
