Live Concert DVD’s – Relive the tour!

Ed Sheeran has announced he is going to release a concert film of his tour which supported his album ‘X’. It will be called Jumpers for Goalposts and will include performances from Wembley Stadium as well as a bit behind the scenes of him during the tour.

It’s release is going to be something amazing! On the 22nd October will be the worldwide premiere where he will do a live performance which will be beamed via satellite, along with the film, from London’s Leicester Square, which is going to have a green carpet, to thousands of cinema screens around the world. And then it will continue to be in them selected cinemas from 23rd – 25th October.

Therefore tonight we played songs from other artists which have live concert DVD’s available.
Many of the singers have had a fair few DVD’s released but below are the name of some of them:

Kylie Minogue

show girlMinogue debuted her number one single ‘Can’t Get You Out of My Head’ on her On A Night Like This Tour. The DVD called Live in Sydney also reached number- one on the UK DVD chart in October 2001.

2002’s Fever tour had costumes and stage designs inspired by sci-fi films. Its DVD won Best Music DVD at the DVD Awards in February 2003.

Filmed during her Showgirl: The Greatest Hits Tour at Earls Court Exhibition Centre, the Showgirl DVD
became the 10th best selling DVD in Australia.

Katy Perry

Prismatic World Tour katy perryPerry’s Prismatic World Tour Live DVD is currently available for pre order. Fans can relive seven thematic acts which Perry did during her tour as well as exclusive extras.

Her autobiography film Part Of Me came out in 2012 featuring clips from her childhood as well as performances from her 2011 California Dreams tour. Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Jessie J make cameos in the film and there’s also scenes of Perry dealing with the breakdown of her marriage with comedian Russell Brand.

One Direction

this is us one directionThe first headlining tour for the 1D boys was to support their debut album of the same name Up All Night. A DVD accompanied the tour showing their performance in January 2012 at the International Centre in Bournemouth. The video concert DVD was a global success, topping the charts in 25 countries. The video album has sold over one million copies worldwide.

In 2014 there was a DVD recording a performance from their 3rd tour, Where We Are, but also they did a film similar to Katy Perry, called This Is Us. The DVD contains live concert footage from London’s O2 Arena and footage from their lives pre- and post X Factor.

Miley Cyrus

Miley bangerzCyrus’ Best of Both Worlds Tour was her debut concert tour in 2008. It was in order to support the double-disc album Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus where Cyrus showcased her own songs for the first time and at the tour performed as herself for the first time too.

The Wonder World Tour was Cyrus’ 2nd tour in 2009 and sang just as herself. A DVD was produced of this but maybe the most interesting to watch would be her most recent tour, Bangerz. That could be a proven by the fact The Bangerz Tour DVD was a commercial success after being certified platinum on its first date, selling 30.000 copies.

Madonna

rebel heart madonnaMadonna has done ten tours over her career since 1985 with her most recent currently still being carried out in support of her 13th album Rebel Heart. The tour finishes in March and there may be a DVD following it, however she already has three out showing performances from tours such as MDNA from 2013, Confessions from 2006 and Drowned from 2001.

Take That

take thatIn 1994 The Everything Changes Tour was the bands second tour and the first European tour. The tour was to promote the album Everything Changes. A video, yes a video, was available to purchase after this as was for the 1993 party tour, 1994 Pop Tour and 1995 Nobody Else Tour.

They then reached the 21st century in 2007 with The Beautiful World Tour in 2007 which ran from October 11 to December 31, in a number of European countries. The O2 gigs on 6th and 7th December were recorded and release on a limited edition 2-disc DVD. Their great hits tour called The Ultimate Tour in 2006, The Progress Live tour in 2011 and the most recent Take That Live 2015, with only Gary, Mark and Howard, have all had DVD releases too.

JLS

eyes wide open jlsThe release of JLS: Eyes Wide Open 3D made them the first British music act to release a 3D film. It was filmed at The O2 Arena during the tour for their second album OuttaThis World in December 2010/January 2011 and incorporated documentary footage. It was shown exclusively for three days only from 3 June 2011 in over 300 UK cinemas.

Their last tour before the band spilt, was called Goodbye – Greatest Hits Tour. You can re-watch their last ever performances of their most loved tunes on DVD with behind the scenes footage as well as a final farewell message from the boys.

Beyonce

beyonce world tourThe I Am World Tour took place between March 2009 and February 2010, in support of her third studio album from 2008 I am…Sasha Fierce. It shows us back stage moments with performances from the tour including the guest appearances from Hsusband Jay-Z and Kanye West. Beyonce produced, directed and edited the concert film for her own production company. She edited the DVD for nine months and it serves as her directorial debut. It became the best-selling music DVD of 2010 and 7th of 2011.

Live at Rose Land: Elements of 4 was released in November 2011and includes 4 performance at The Roseland Ballroom in New York.

The Beyonce Experience Live in 2006 shows her performance in California as part of her The Beyonce Experience Live Tour.

Beyonce’s first concert film, Dangerously in Love was in support of her first solo studio album Dangerously in Love which had a tour of the same name.

Destiny’s Child

world tour destinys childThe World Tour includes bonus videos, as well as their performances in the Netherlands in 2003.

The follow up in DVD in 2006 was Destiny’s Child: Live in Atlanta. The DVD was filmed during the Atlanta visit of the Destiny Fulfilled … And Lovin’ It Tour, which supported their last studio album before the girls broke up.

Blue

one love live tour blueBlue released a DVD of their first ever tour, One Love, back in 2003 as a support for their second album also called One Love. Their following album and tour of the same name, Guilty, was live at Wembly and had a DVD capturing the performance in 2008.

Eminem
