Council by-election in Shenfield

A by-election has been called for the Shenfield ward of Brentwood Borough Council following the resignation of Councillor Liz Cohen.

The notice of election was published today (Thursday 24 September) and if contested, the by-election will be held on Thursday 29 October 2015.

On the day, polling stations will be open from 7am in the morning until 10pm in the evening.

Nominations for candidates have to be made by 4pm on Friday 2nd October 2015.

The last date to register to vote and take part in the poll – if somebody is not currently on the Register of Electors is midnight on Tuesday 13 October – registration can be made online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote or by telephone on 01277 312708. You need your national insurance number and date of birth to apply to register.

Applications for a postal vote must be received by the Council’s elections team by 5pm on Wednesday 14 October and proxy vote applications must be received by 5pm on Wednesday 21 October.
