Queens Theatre Hornchurch

Applications are being welcomed for the positions of Apprentice Stage Manager and Community Arts Apprentice. Interested candidates should visit the website queens-theatre.co.uk for full details and submit their applications by midday on Friday 24 July.

Interim Chief Executive Thom Stanbury says: “We are delighted to be able to offer these two apprenticeship positions. As a passionate producing house, we are dedicated to creating a diverse range of theatre. And the only way we can continue doing this is by passing on our expertise and educating the theatre-makers of the future.

“Both roles offer invaluable experience and varied responsibilities, and our two apprentices will not only hugely enjoy their time with us but learn an enormous range of crucial professional skills they will use in their future careers.”

The Apprentice Stage Manager will be a key part of the exciting Stage Management Department, supporting the producing work of the Queen’s by assisting the Director and acting company in rehearsals, technical rehearsals and performances. The successful candidate will play an active role in the making, sourcing, hiring, and purchase of properties and furniture required for productions in accordance with briefs from designers and directors.

Working as part of the vibrant Education and Outreach Department, the Community Arts Apprentice will learn about and participate in the delivery of a range of youth and community engagement projects within the borough of Havering, as well as East London and Essex. During this time, the apprentice will support the work of the department and help to grow new projects.

For one day a week, both apprentices will study or train at college or at the theatre as required, working towards the Level 3 Apprenticeship Award.
