It wasn’t just the music drawing people to the Brentwood Centre over the Festival weekend as a small but enthusiastic group of Labour supporters turned out to hear from one of the front-runners for the Party’s deputy leadership, Caroline Flint MP.

Caroline was a guest of Brentwood and Ongar Labour Womens’ Group along with Mike Le-Surf, parliamentary candidate for South Basildon and East Thurrock in the recent General Election, and after the meeting she popped into the studio to talk to Phoenix.

Caroline told Alan Johnson why she thought Labour had performed so badly in the Election and how she hoped to help rebuild the Party if she’s successful in seeing off her opponents for the second top job.
