Brentwood Borough Council are concerned by calls it has received regarding a company that is cold calling residents and claiming that it is working on behalf of the Council.

Residents are reporting that the company who go by the name of ‘Options’ claim that they are either working with Brentwood Borough Council or have worked with Brentwood Borough Council. Although the cold callers are quite vague on exactly what service they are offering, it is believed it is related to green energy as they have mentioned carbon emissions and claim the resident can earn money from them.
The Leader of Brentwood Borough Council, Councillor Louise McKinlay said: “Although we have only had a few calls from residents who were concerned about the cold call they had received from ‘Options’ – we suspect that they are not alone. I want to warn residents that we are not working with the company called ‘Options’ and they haven’t worked with us in the past. Please do not give them any of your details”.
If a residents receives a call from this company we would ask if you could call 01277 312500 to give us details of the call so we can investigate this further and inform Essex Trading Standards.
