First up tonight I was joined in the studio by Steve and Chris from Looks Like Rain (yes, we realise that was kinda ironic for the hottest day of the year so far too). The band can be seen playing at Barking Folk Festival on Sunday, where they’ll be playing alongside Billy Bragg among many others! They’ll be releasing a new single, 52:59 (as heard exclusively when they first joined us in May)on Sunday to coincide with the slot – find out more at www.lookslikerain.co.uk. See them playing live in the studio below:

Then I chatted to Daniel Flay (above right), frontman of Bristol’s The Travis Waltons. Daniel is gearing up for the band’s second album release, Separation Season, on August 10th, which features guest appearances from Jamie Lenman and Charlie Simpson among others. It’s not Dan’s first brush with famous faces, having had one of the band’s videos introduced by a famous US actor. Click above to find out how all these amazing collaborations came about, and how you can get your hands on the album, alongside tales of gigs in gardens and living rooms!
